In ancient Mesopotamia, between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, the first great cities and kingdoms emerged. Among them was the majestic city of Uruk, ruled by Gilgamesh: a legendary king said to be two-thirds divine and one-third human.
His story would outlive civilizations, inscribed on the first clay tablets and becoming one of humanity's oldest surviving legends.
Despite his power and glory, Gilgamesh could not escape the fate shared by all mortals: death. Determined to defy it, he set out beyond the known world, journeying through vast deserts, ancient forests, vertiginous mountains, and distant seas. Sustained by the abundance of nature along the way, he faced countless trials in pursuit of a sacred flower said to grant eternal life.
Gilgamesh finally found the flower at the bottom of a hidden lake, only to have it stolen by a serpent before he could claim immortality. Fighting the beast with all of his might, he eventually met the demise he had sought to escape.
In the end, Gilgamesh could not conquer death but as fate (or irony) would have it, his legend did, making him immortal in the only way that truly lasts: by being remembered forever.
